Dr. Jones and Dr. Dickson provide a variety of orthodontic services (braces) for patients of all ages.  Here is a summary:

Adolescent Care/Adult Care

Adolescents in braces make up the majority of the patients seen in the office, Approximately one in five patients are adults.  Having our staff be on time, both for appointments and in completing the planned care, is important to the doctor and the entire team.  At the same time, we will not compromise our care of you or your having a positive experience during your visit in order to be on time.

Interdisciplinary Care

Of special interest to our doctors is the role they play in the interdisciplinary care and treatment of patients. This concept involves excellent communication with the family's restorative dentist, the periodontist, the oral surgeon and at times the speech therapist.  This occurs with adults who exhibit chipped, broken or missing teeth or perhaps have periodontal challenges (gum disease.)  It may be in the form of children exhibiting Cleft Lip and/or Palate challenges.  We work well with individuals experiencing temporomandibular discomfort (TMJ problems) as well.

For patients who may have multiple treatment options, there are times the utilization of computer video imaging allows patients and families to "preview" various treatment results.

Interceptive Care

Interceptive treatment is recommended for children when there is:

  • Significant Spacing or Crowding of Teeth
  • Crossbites of Front or Back Teeth
  • Thumb or Finger Sucking Habits That Haven't Ceased Past the Age of Six
  • Significant Facial Bone Growth Discrepancies

 

Invisalign® Treatment

For certain people, the thought of wearing braces prevents them from having the kind of smile they have always wanted. There are limits to this type of treatment, so please be aware this alternative is not an option that is available to all patients.
