(This story was first published July, 2006)

Pam and I will be flying to the Seattle area to do some dayhiking around Mount Rainier.  We have been there on 2 previous occasions...once at our 20th anniversary in 2000, and then again in 2004 for a 33 mile hike on the Wonderland Trail.  (The Wonderland Trail circumscribes Mount Rainier, and is over 90 miles long.)

After a few days of dayhikes, I have planned a summit trip. Here is the route I am slated to take (while Pam enjoys other parts of the area):   

For the past 6 months, I have been getting in shape so as to have the opportunity to summit this 14,411 foot glacial mountain in our country's beautiful Northwest. (Compared to sea level, that makes Mount Rainier about 9 times taller than Monte Sano!)
