Some significant milestones in his practice life include having been selected as Small Business of the Year for 1996 by the Huntsville-Madison County Chamber of Commerce. Three years later, this practice was selected as the winner of the 1999 Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics by the North Alabama Better Business Bureau. In the meantime (January 1997) Dr. Jones assumed the responsibilities of retiring orthodontist, Dr. J. Sidney Smith, a well-respected member of the Huntsville orthodontic community since the 1960’s. On Memorial Day weekend of that same year, Dr. Jones’ practice was physically relocated to its current setting near the intersection of Airport Road and South Memorial Parkway.
The theme of the office is “Producing Smiles!” These are the first two words of the practice’s mission statement and comprise this websites’ address. “Producing Smiles!” conveys the idea of this adventure toward improved dental health being a process. It is a process that results in smiles being produced not only on the face of the one undergoing treatment, but also smiles for the parents/spouse/family, the referring doctor and staff as well as our own faces!
Today, Dr. Jones is a Board Certified Orthodontist. The American Board of Orthodontics is the only orthodontic specialty board recognized by the American Dental Association and sponsored by the American Association of Orthodontists.
Of great importance to Dr. Jones is his wife and best friend, the former Pamela Dean Horton of Columbiana. Married since 1980, Alan and Pam welcomed a daughter and son to their union in 1985 and 1987, respectively. The children were home educated with Covenant Christian Academy (CCA) serving as the umbrella organization.
